About Miami Valley Animal Hospital
The Miami Valley Animal Hospital has been in existence since 1967. The new and current facility was built in 2005 in order to better serve our clients and pets. The new location is at 1550 East David Road in the beautiful city of Kettering, OH. The 6700 square foot building allows the medical team and staff to work in a comfortable, clean and safe environment. Our clients and pets enjoy coming into the facility because it is an extremely clean and a very pleasant environment. The larger facility has allowed the staff to continue to provide excellent general medical services, surgery, radiology, laboratory, dental, boarding and grooming.
On average, we have approximately 20 staff members. Our staff are a combination of both full-time and part-time. We currently have four full-time and one part-time veterinarians. Each of our veterinarians have been trained in the United States and bring many skills and years of experience to their positions. Each of our veterinarians are dedicated to patient care and work tirelessly to assess, diagnose, and treat our patients. We have four full-time and one part-time registered and licensed veterinary technicians. The technicians are very talented and extremely skilled nurses. Miami Valley Animal Hospital is the only animal hospital in the immediate area staffed with only licensed veterinary technicians. Our customer service staff is totally dedicated to making your trip to the see the veterinarian a professional and pleasant experience. These staff members are extremely knowledgeable and are able to triage your concerns and questions upon entering the hospital or when you call on the telephone to ask questions or schedule an appointment. They are excellent record keepers and play an extremely important role in organizing our business. The veterinary assistants fill our hospital with skill, love and kindness. These individuals work tirelessly supporting the needs of our veterinarians and technicians. They our professional restrainers, caretakers of our animals, and provide a safe and warm place for your pets when they are hospitalized or brought in for surgery. Their motto is, "We treat your pets just like we would treat our own pets." And they do just that. Quality and cost are two main aspects to consider when choosing treatment for any member of your family. We work hard to balance those needs while providing the best possible care for your pet.
Our entire staff prides themselves on constantly training and learning new and improved skills in order to utilize whatever treatments or medications are most beneficial to our patients. Each of our staff is trained and required to attend educational programs.
Our goal is to improve in each of their areas of expertise. When we meet as a team for continuing education in our hospital conference room, the entire staff is included no matter the subject. It is our goal for each of our staff members to grow professionally and to be current on what is important for the well being of our clients pets. Our hospital went through a rigorous review of the practice protocols, medical equipment, facility and client service. Unlike human hospitals, not all animal hospitals are required to be accredited.
